Model4Jesus met Steadfast 190 back in 2008 when they volunteered to participate and perform in our "Beauty For Ashes" Fashion Show benefiting City of Refuge. This year they did it all over again and performed as the featured Band in our "Rock The Runway" Fashion Show. Their dedication, desire to help others and consistant search for the Truth has made them our friends and part of our Model4Jesus family. Patina, Jeff, and Debbie make up Steadfast 190, their mission is to "Energize and Motivate the Church to Be the Church of Isaiah 58". In their own words, here is what Steadfast 190 believes:
"To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God"-the life we are called to live spoken by a prophet of old.
We are all called to use the gifts we have been given to celebrate and share an amazing God with a world very much in need of his love. When you take that call seriously and truly seek God's direction, you can find yourself in a place you never thought you'd be, but when you get there, you know you are in exactly the right place. That is how we feel as the artists who make up Steadfast190. Brought together by the music ministry at our church, but united by a desire to share our understanding of an awesome God with a larger audience, we can't wait to see what God has in store for us.
Steadfast190's debut album, It's Time, offers a collection of songs as varied as the artists who make up the group. Inspired by the story telling of artists like Mark Schultz and the intricate vocals of Avalon, Steadfast190 seeks to engage the listener in a musical mélange that features thought provoking lyrics, wonderfully soaring guitar solos, and inspired vocal work that draws the audience into each song in the collection.
Song styles range from rock to gospel, with even a hint of rap thrown in for good measure. The messages portrayed in the songs vary, as well. While Thank You, Psalm 47, and I Think of You invoke a feeling of worship and praise, What is This Place, Stopped by the Cross and It's Time create a sense of urgency in the listener to examine where his choices are taking him. Closer to You offers the encouraging message that no matter what life brings your way, you can handle it by staying close to God, and the simple ballad Make Him Known beautifully sums up the mission of Steadfast 190-to tell the world what our Savior has done for us, and that His saving grace is available to all!
