During the holiday season we are all doing the same song & dance. By that, I mean shopping out or in your closet wondering what to wear to that Christmas party, cocktail party, dinner, Gala, charity event and so on...

Here I go again to help with some style ideas:

Try a fun and festive touch with sequin. Yes, it's back. The full on sequin dress is a gorgeous, yet bold statement. So if you're feeling it, then wear the tunic or sheath styles with confidence.
Adding the stylish 'shootie' or the neutral shoe that matches your skin tone. Not feeling that bold? Go with a sequined single piece: on the soft tank top, pencil/mini skirt, and blazer. Pair with a solid colored piece for balance and you're ready to party!

 

The empire dress style suits the pear, curvy, or boy shaped bodies. They also display a fun feel. Have you tried the patterned tweed or brocade skirts? Again, with a soft blouse equals the perfect dinner set.

 

Preparing For That Special Gala or Charity event does not have to be so nerve racking. Most of us don't have the luxury of having a designer make us a dress. In the real world we opt for off the rack, ready-to-wear styles. However this should be important enough to see a tailor if and when adjustments need to be made.

Velvet fabric works great. Beware of the cut, look for straight/long lines so that it will not add bulk to your body. Black, maroon, wine are usually the favored colors in velvet.

Lace, chiffon, silks also make for pretty frocks and gowns. Long and knee length should be worn because class should be your goal for this special night.

Please keep in mind, parties and events aren't all that Christmas is about. Giving, Loving, Thankfulness is the greatest accesory we must carry with us. Yes, it shows!
